This gorgeous cupcake shop is named ‘House of Sugar’ for a reason, because one bite and you’ll be bouncing off the walls from the sugar hit.
Maison Sucre do a mean vanilla cupcake with Nutella icing and offer other choices such as date cupcakes with cinnamon icing and a flourless chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream icing.
Rest assured, if you’re in need of a 3pm sugar-fix then Maison Sucre is the place to head. They include some more unusual varieties as well, such as the carrot cupcake with cream cheese icing. These, however, are best avoided unless you’ve got an extremely sweet tooth. But the rest of the goodies for sale in this tiny outlet are sensational – the macaroons are crisp and chewy and the bite-sized versions of bigger cakes, such as the mini pecan tart, are pretty enough to make great gifts for anyone. Definitely worth dropping by.
